Lucky Stiff
The film musical of Lynn and Stephen’s first off-Broadway show, “Lucky Stiff,” opened in New York City after screenings at the Hollywood Film Festival, London’s Raindance Film Festival and others. A musical farce in which a British shoe salesman inherits six million dollars from a dead uncle. There’s only one catch: in order to get the money, he has to take the dead body, prop it in a wheelchair and take it on one last spree to Monte Carlo. Chaos ensues.
The film is directed by Christopher Ashley, with screenplay by Lynn Ahrens and a song score by Ahrens + Flaherty, with additional underscoring by Jordan Seigel, Stephen and Tom Kitt. It features a new title song sung by Eric Idle.
